John Dunnett (he/him) is a queer freelance costume designer for film, television & live performance. Originally hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick, he is currently based in Toronto, ON

Recent credits include the feature films Jump, Darling starring Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman, Perpetual Motion shot on location in Havana, Cuba & Busan, South Korea - and the long running Off-Broadway production of 50 Shades! The Musical. As an assistant costume designer John has contributed to projects such as Sony/Amazon Prime’s record breaking The Boys and the inaugural season of Star Trek: Discovery for CBS All Access.

Past employers include Second Stage Theatre, The Paper Mill Playhouse, New York City Opera, The Stratford Festival of Canada, Roundabout Theatre Company, Gotham Chamber Opera and The SummerScape Festival at Bard College. Select works have represented Canada at the Prague Theatre Design Quadrennial.
